FAQ's

FMT offers a unique opportunity for mental health providers to market their services using a private pay model.

Find My Therapist providers are committed to delivering personalized care tailored to each client’s unique needs. However, insurance companies often restrict the type, frequency, and duration of care they allow providers to deliver. Providers who accept private pay may be able to offer more individualized services without these constraints.

“Private pay” refers to the arrangement where clients pay the therapist directly for their services, without involving insurance companies. This means that clients are responsible for the full cost of therapy, which they typically pay out-of-pocket at the time of each session.

By choosing private pay, your provider may be able to offer more individualized services, which means you can get treatment custom-tailored to your unique needs.

In some cases, you may pay more for services if you pay out of pocket, depending on your insurance plan’s coverage for mental health services compared to a provider’s private pay rate.

  • We manually verify each provider’s state license(s) upon signup. Providers also receive a notification when their license expiration date is approaching.

We recommend that you visit the provider’s state board website to verify their license for yourself. We cannot guarantee that all licenses are valid and without restriction.
